Reducing food waste with service design.

FarmtoPlate is a subscription service where customers purchase an entire pig and receive various cuts over a period of time. The main aim is to dramatically reduce the amount of money that consumers spend, whilst wasting less of the animal by making it easier for subscribers to deal with the off cuts too.

Currently in the UK we produce 3 times more crop and livestock than we can eat, creating an unhealthy/wasteful relationship between us (the British people) and the food we eat. Our service gets customers to buy meat more responsibly and eat the entire animal, whilst saving up to 50% on their supermarket meat shop, effectively increasing sustainability whilst reducing costs.

A project in collaboration with Clarissa Kang, Ryan Choi and Luca Alessandrini. During the project I lead the systems design and cooked the prototypical paté.
