Living in NYC, the colours of the city's industrial features merge into a mushy grey. To design this textile I went to capture a cliche sunrise, cycling from Fort Greene over the Mahnattan bridge into Chinatown. Instead I found the colours from odd bits of paint and odd coloured lamps grasping my attention. The video embodies the process with which I mashed up the colours to create a pattern celebrating the highlights of colour on my journey.
I decided to represent the fabric on a reversible bomber jacket designed by Sandro. One side representing what I see on autopilot, the other when I look at the details of the city.
